Million Pillowcase Challenge

All,
You've heard of the Million Dollar Pillowcase challenge by now right?  Well, if you haven't, I will tell you a little bit about the program.  American Patchwork & Quilting came up with the idea to combine our love of sewing with the gift of giving.  Individuals and quilt shops around the globe are participating.  I see my local quilt shop Sisto's is contributing.   It's easy.  Here's the website: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases/index.html for more details.  Here you can find free downloadable patterns.  Once you have your pillowcase complete, you can donate it to a local charity or find out if your local quilt shop is collecting for the cause.  Dont forget to update the pillow case counter!

To watch a really awesome pillow tutorial, check out Fabrics N Things blog:  http://fabricsnquilts.blogspot.com/2011/04/mondays-pillowcase-challenge-giveaway.html  The video shows you how to make a sausage pillowcase - that's one that is rolled up in such away that you end up with no raw edges!  I wish I would have seen this tutorial last August when making other pillowcases.  This was the coolest way to make a pillowcase!

Here's a picture of mine...  a big ole shout out of thanks to my sister Deb for contributing some of the fabric.

  2. I just made some pillowcases for my mother for Mother's Day.

I just found your blog and admire your formatting. How did you make your headings at the top with separate categories for quilts, giveaways, etc?

I am curious how you put your buttons at the bottom of your blog too.

I am new to blogging and just started one for my quilt group. I need to find out how to organize to it's not a hodge podge like mine.

    Thanks!
